Three Simple Ways to Maximize your Content Marketing Results

Content Marketing is one of the most powerful ways of promoting your business online and drawing customers into your site. However many business owners are not getting the maximum benefit from this content. In this article we will look at how you can repurpose your content so as to maximize its benefit.

Before we look at the specific ways that you can repurpose content, I will first clarify what exactly content repurposing is and why you should be using it. Content repurposing is when you take an existing piece of content that you have created and you reformat it for a different medium. For example if you had a podcast you could take the transcript of that podcast and turn it into blog articles or a report.

The value of this is that you are leveraging your creative efforts. By reformatting content in this way you are able to tap into multiple different traffic channels. To use the example above you can list your podcast on the iTunes store while placing the free report inside of document sharing sites.

The other benefit along with increased traffic and saving you time is that people like to consume content in different formats. Some people like to read, some listen and others would rather watch a video. By having multiple formats you will be able to get your message to your audience in the exact way they want delivered.

Here are three different ideas that you can employ for your own content repurposing:

Take your blog posts and combine them into a PDF report

Take a collection of your favorite blog posts written around a central theme and combine them into a single word document. Write a brief introduction and include any links that you would like to promote. Then convert the document to PDF. This could then be either given away or sold as a report. Alternatively list the PDF on a document sharing site such as Slideshare or Scribd to draw in more traffic.

Record your blog post or guide as an MP3 file

You can use the free digital recording software audacity to record yourself reading out loud your blog posts or report. Once you have turned this into an MP3 File you can then distribute it on sites such as the iTunes store or Amazon as well as uploading it to your own site.

Use the MP3 file and your blog posts to create a video

Now that you have an audio file you can use Windows Movie Maker along with a slideshare software such as Powerpoint to create a video. First take the main points from each blog post and use these as bullet points on your slideshow. Once you have finished this export the slides to Windows Movie Maker. Finally add the MP3 Soundtrack and edit so that the slides match you talking about them. Now you have video which you can upload to popular video sites such as YouTube.
